Linda Chandler, Director of Investments at the Community Loan Fund has announced her retirement effective April 2024, after 16 years with the organization. During her time with the organization, Linda was paramount as it pertained to overseeing our long standing investors and donors. With her efforts, the Loan Fund has grown substantially over the last 16 years and has allowed us to better serve those in the Capital Region.

“Linda Chandler’s unwavering dedication and passion to continue growing the Community Loan Fund over her 16 years of service is truly remarkable,” said Linda MacFarlane, Executive Director of the Community Loan Fund. “We were lucky to have her at the Community Loan Fund for 16 years as she made our organization a household name with all past, present, and future investors and donors to our mission.

Starting as the Development Manager in 2008, she quickly became Director of Development in 2009 and oversaw all fundraising efforts and media relations for the Community Loan Fund. With the rise of social media and the expansion of the department, she seamlessly made the transition to Director of Investments while at the time also researching, writing, and submitting all grant applications for the organization. In the last few years, Linda has been instrumental in maintaining relationships with our supporters and often can be found training and offering helpful suggestions to new staff members as they begin their own journey at the Loan Fund.

“This was by far my favorite job I’ve ever had; getting to work with the local financial institutions, investors, and all the generous supporters and donors over my 16 year career at the Loan Fund,” said Linda Chandler. “That truly was the best part of my job, being able to speak with so many generous organizations and philanthropists across the Capital Region who believed like I believed that the work we do at the Community Loan Fund is truly a necessity. I will miss working with our mission driven staff, but look forward to watching on from afar at the exciting new projects we have coming up.”

When asked what she was looking forward to the most in retirement? Linda said, “Finishing these home projects I’ve never completed and of course spending more time with my family and especially the grandchildren.”

Please join the Community Loan Fund as we sincerely thank Linda Chandler for her incredible 16 years of service to the organization!
