Nestled on the Battenkill River in historic Washington County, Battenkill Community Services provides compassionate person-centered services for adults, teens and children with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Recently, the Community Loan Fund provided the non-profit organization with a $490,000 term loan to finance it’s purchase of a new mixed-use building in Greenwich, NY. Once purchased, the 2,796 SF, tw0-story building will be utilized to support administrative offices, provide necessary programming space, and create three apartments for individuals who live independently but with special needs.
Battenkill Community Services (BCS) serves those living in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties, and has done so since their founding in 1999. BCS seeks to empower these individuals to experience meaningful activities within their own communities, to learn the skills and get the support necessary to pursue their interests and aspirations. Similarly, the organization also works to promote community awareness, understanding, and acceptance of those with development disabilities.
